Radical, Innovative, Anointed, and cutting edge are just some of the Words used to describe Dr. Michael A. Cokes, Sr. Founding Pastor of City of Faith Church. 
Dr. Michael A. Cokes, Sr., is also noted to be the founder of New Haven Missionary Baptist Church and Friendship Progressive Church, all with the support of his Wife, Lady Tangie Cokes. Dr. Michael A. Cokes, Sr. strives to exemplify the heart of God.

Dr. Cokes is uniquely anointed for the body of Christ with a clear and distinct voice in the 21st Century, releasing into the atmosphere the truth of God’s word, and bringing about salvation, healing, deliverance and restoration for the continued up-building of God’s Kingdom. A Pastor’s Pastor; a Leader’s Leader; the nurturing heart of a Spiritual Father with a mandate to Change a Generation by Changing the Way We Do Church. He received his call to preach in November 1992.

He was licensed to preach the Gospel on April 23, 1995 by the late Reverend Benjamin L. Nabors of the Great Faith Progressive MBC. He received his Ordination as Minister of The Gospel on April 19, 1999 with the oversight of Dr. Nathaniel Hull, Sr. in West Helena, Arkansas. He served as Pastor of Fountain Head Missionary Baptist Church in Marvel, Arkansas for several years before returning back to his hometown and becoming the Founder and Pastor of New Haven Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully. Born July 30, 1964 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he is the only child of the late Isabella Cokes. 

Submitting to the will of God he is a graduate of Agape Christian Bible College. He holds a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling. In addition, he holds both a Masters and Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity and an Associate Degree in Theology. 

In February 8th, 2013 Pastor Cokes became Dr. Michael A. Cokes Sr. after he received his Doctorate in Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College. He has served at many levels during his walk with Christ and is an exceptional pastor, husband, father, grandfather and friend. 

Dr. Michael A. Cokes, Sr., is the father of Frederick, Michael Jr. Alphaeous, Litisha, Jasmine, Michaela, and Jennifer. He is also the dear grandfather to Jashuan, Christian, Jrue, Malachi, micah, Miah, Cali, Cairene, Michail and Hayleigh.
